I was flipping through the latest edition of L’Uomo Vogue the other day and came across an ad for the John Varvatos Spring ’11 collection featuring legendary American singer/songwriter Dave Matthews. At first this connection seemed odd, but after a quick pause I came to realize that it absolutely fit with the Varvatos brand aesthetic which frequently features iconic musicians in its advertisements. A simple Google search yielded an even weirder video of Matthews and a monkey. I’m not sure if the campaign will make me want to buy those chukka boots I’ve been eyeing more than I already do, but it’s certainly interesting to look at.
