Jordan, Garrett and I were out wandering yesterday trying to kill some time before a birthday dinner at Canters on Fairfax. Be sure to check this place out if you haven’t, it’s right across from one of our favorite restaurants Golden State. On our walk, Jordan suggested stopping by a vintage store on Melrose named SLOW, known to him as a great place to buy distressed boots. Normally I don’t stop into these stores as they tend to be overpriced and not terribly different from the 10 others sprawled up and down Melrose, but Garrett was in the market for a pea coat so we stopped in. First off, the place has a great atmosphere. Happy, non-pretentious people are all hanging out, listening to music and generally having a good time. Second, the selection is great. Garrett found his pea coat and I picked up a genuine Pendleton tartan two pocket button down for incredibly good prices, ($65 and $25 respectively). According to the sales guy, the store is known for its selection of vintage boots. Check out the picture Jordan snapped below and be sure to stop into SLOW next time your on Melrose looking to waste a little time.
