Oxfords & Wingtips

Let’s talk shoes for a second. Now that summer is over, it’s difficult to get away with leaving the house sans socks, but if you’re lucky enough to live in lovely southern California, this can almost be a year around trend, (save for perhaps that pesky month of January… 60 degrees might just be too cold, but I digress).

I wanted to touch on a trend that I personally love and is endorsed by stylish people, publications, and brands everywhere… Oxford or Wingtip shoes and no socks. I know I know, I’m late to the game on this one, but for the sake of the newness of this blog, bear with me.

If you’re looking for a great pair of simple yet classy shoes, a rich brown oxford is a sure thing, but if living life on the edgier side is more your speed, try a wingtip. Both available from more expensive online retailers like Jcrew to your more affordable options like Zappos. Of course, wear both without socks and cuffed or rolled dark denim. We’ve even seen guys in slim fitted suits wearing them without socks… but you’d better be sure you’ve got your fit just perfect to pull that one off.

Let’s face it, we all loved this ad, whether you like to admit it or not…
